In the Klamath Marsh

Beautiful Malone Springs is located on the western edge of the Klamath Marsh where the Fremont-Winema National Forest meets the water.  On this tour we put in at the Malone Springs Day Use area then head south on the Klamath Marsh Canoe Trail to enjoy the peacefulness of this great wildlife filled, fresh-water marsh to the take-out at the Rocky Point Point Launch, Fremont-Winema National Forest. Have fun as we explore the many inlets that lead into the water trail and see lots of wildlife!

Kayak Tour at Malone Springs in Klamath County Oregon

Guided Tour Information

 The cost for this tour is $94.00. You'll receive one or two of our guides to accompany you. This tour is limited to 16 guests and two guides. If 8 or fewer guests attend, only 1 guide will accompany them. Please call to discuss booking a larger group, as we can accommodate special events with advance notice.

Kayaks, paddles, life vests, and whistles will be provided. 

Our licensed Oregon Guides are very experienced, with years on the water, and are dedicated to providing you with an enjoyable experience you will remember for a lifetime.

Kayaking on the Upper Klamath Canoe trail in Klamath County, Oregon

Upper Klamath Canoe Trail

 The Upper Klamath Canoe Trail provides a marked, 9.5-mile journey through a larger freshwater marsh. The canoe trail has four segments: Recreation Creek, Crystal Creek, Wocus Cut, and Malone Springs with each segment offering a new look at the Upper Klamath Marsh. 

Where the trail is located: 

From Klamath Falls, head west 25 miles on Hwy 140. Turn North onto West Side Rd follow the signs to Rocky Point boat launch. Malone Springs boat launch is 4 miles past the Rocky Point boat launch.

Regulations Please observe the following guidelines, they are designed to protect the marsh, wildlife and you.  

  • Please remain on designated trails. Other areas within the refuge are closed to protect nesting birds.  
  • Wocus Cut tTail is for non-motorized boat use only. 
  • Please carry out all the trash with you. 
  • This is a day-use area only.  
  • Avoid approaching nesting birds and birds with young.  
  • Please carry your drinks in unbreakable containers.

As you travel through any segment of the 9.5 miles of the Upper Klamath canoe trail, you cannot escape the dramatic mixture of marsh, open lake and forest. The meeting of these environments provides a rich habitat for many plant and animal species.

We offer Tours at  Malone Springs 7 days a week with 2 departure times of 9:30AM or 1:30PM.  We ask all guests to arrive 30 minutes prior to departure. 


We require a minimum of 3 people attending a tour for a guided tour to take place. For groups of 2, we offer an option to reserve a third seat to meet tour minimums, and if another group joins to meet the minimum requirement, we will refund the third seat. We do not guarantee a third seat refund. Please call to book using this option.
